Byram still a West Ham player then.
Why can't we get rid of this overpaid sick note?

I've answered my own question I suppose.

Re: 2018 Summer Transfer Window gossip
If there had been a poll at the end of last season I can’t imagine many expected us to get Pellegrini & sign 9 players for about £100m.

Shows how much the piss has been taken previously. A London Premier league club with a free 60,000 seat stadium should be spending that as a matter of course.

it's annoying listening to cunts like white on TS continually having a pop now a few quid has been spent, and fatso Mills asking today who'll be blamed if it all goes wrong again this season. they have such a short term, blinkered view

Re: 2018 Summer Transfer Window gossip
Thames, im not sure there is extra money, lets not forget we spent next to nothing in the winter window and also got some extra cash in from sales.

Thats not moaning by the way because i don't care how they've done it but they've finally backed the manager with decent funds. If it us true that pelligrini was approached halfway through the season that goes a long way to explaining why Moyes was given next to nothing in the winter window and we're now spent so big.

It was a big gamble that Moyes would keep us up but alls well that ends well as they say.

Re: 2018 Summer Transfer Window gossip
The first few games before the international break will tell us a fair amount about the squad. Even if we lose a few games we'll see the style and the comms between the players.

What we shouldn't be expecting to see is the type of losses to the clubs we expect to beat, not like we did against Burnley. These games will be the test and we should give some of the bigger clubs a run for their money.

This has been an interesting window, one that is the final test for G&S imo. They have strung us along for too many years and last season was a justified attack on them, now those two pretenders and their token girl have had to do what they should've done years ago.

No more stringing along, the fans expect now.

It has to be said we are finally paying what we should for players. Our record breaking signings are behind the curve with the bigger clubs but at least now we are paying the fees rather than bargain bucket deals.

Something has happened. Financially maybe there is extra revenue coming from elsewhere, or maybe these leeches have decided to dip into their coffers to save face.

Whatever you may think, the window has brought excitement which also breeds expectation. Lets hope it materialises. It has made me want to watch West Ham again, hopefully that lost feeling will last.

COYI.

Re: 2018 Summer Transfer Window gossip
i think we've done great and have far more options now. my one moan was not getting Maia but Sanchez will do a decent job, hopefully he will show some restraint when given a chance. i've moaned a lot about the board for years but they've backed MP and i think we'll finish top half comfortably

Fucking hell crassus , you are one hard to please bastard . Our squad has been vastly improved. Ok , not by players in the Ronaldo , Messi league but I , for one , will be chuffed never to have to see people like Kouyate in a West Ham shirt ever again .
We might actually get to see some half decent football too !
Then again this is West Ham !

COYI .

Haha

Not really mate - just being pragmatic, and asking a valid question

Manager plays 4 at the back, but the only FB is Zab, the CB's would all be better in a 3. CMF has not been solved and the best bet up top is Arnie

Stardust in £40m of Brazilian that will appear, once in a while and Yarmalenko and Jack are injury prone

Time will tell but I am calling a season ending positionally like the last, give or take, with a few thumpings both ways, in the interim - starting at Anfield

Re: 2018 Summer Transfer Window gossip
OK
So let's cut the euphoria that the board have actually spent acrued revenues
Who, with broadly £100m would have deployed that budget in the manner it has?
Now fair play, it's the managers call and all that, and he will be judged accordingly but I think it remains a valid discussion on here
I think there is a merging of the delight that we are actually spending over the reality of whom we have bought and positions addressed, moreover, where the percentage on players has gone
Diop - 20%?
Time will tell but Sanchez in MF is not the answer for me and anything 10th or above is beyond par by my reckoning.

he signed Fernandinho and Fernando whilst at Man City.

Re: 2018 Summer Transfer Window gossip
Rice, Noble, Obiang, Sanchez.

Think that's ok for now. Think Pellers was more concerned about adding players that can move the ball.

Didn't he basically play without a DM at all for his best period at Man City?

RM10

my take on that is that from what he has said Pellegrini has tackled what he believes were the main areas that needed improvement, and did so pretty much early doors and is happy with his squad. I would also think that he sees Rice as a defensive midfielder going forward. It could also be the case that he did have some DMs in mind, but for whatever reason we couldn't get those deals over the line, so Sanchez has been signed to bolster the numbers. I wouldn't be surprised to see a DM come in in January, depending on how our season goes.

Re: 2018 Summer Transfer Window gossip
am i spoilt brat by asking why we didnt by a class defensive midfielder, the one player we really need after a few flair players.

Re: 2018 Summer Transfer Window gossip
Again, I'm sure Marco Silva is more than aware of the form and talent of the player he has now signed twice for two different clubs. I'm not quite sure where you are going with this? seems a bit pointless to be suggesting that he has spent 50m on a player and hasn't bothered keeping tabs on him for the past 6 months.

chelmsfordhammer 9:47 Thu Aug 9
Re: 2018 Summer Transfer Window gossip
trevorb, I'm fully aware marco silva signed him for watford , if he'd have took the time to look at how he performed since he left the club he might of realised he's worth nowhere near what they've just paid for him.

I didn't say he was good I said he looked good in the games in which I saw him.
